imuTek
Imu-Tek
Laboratories, Inc. is the leader in the collection, production
and marketing
of high quality bovine colostrum. Imu-Tek is one of only three
facilities
licensed by the US Department of Agriculture for the production
of bovine
colostrum products. It was the first manufacturer to receive an
indication for
colostrum for the passive transfer of antibodies (immunoglobulins)
in dry powder form. Imu-Tek products compete in the $53
billion nutrition and health products industry.
Imu-Tek
was founded in 1988 in Aurora, Colorado, by Henry and Susan
Dyjak. The
business expanded from a small operation in the Dyjak's garage
to a 50,000 square
foot production facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. Imu-Tek
produces colostrum year-round with a work force of 15 employees.
In addition
to 3rd party testing, the company also maintains its own
in-house testing
laboratory and on-staff Ph.D. scientists to assure quality
control.

Sources
of imuTek Colostrum
Imu-Tek
sources colostrum from US Grade A dairies only. This ensures
that the
cows are healthy and well-cared for. Grade A dairy herds are
monitored by
the USDA and their facilities are tested regularly to ensure
proper animal
husbandry and sanitation. Imu-Tek only purchases colostrum from
herds that first
supply newborn calves with enough colostrum to meet their
needs. Imu-Tek is
a leader in research on bovine colostrum and participates
in clinical trials
through university medical schools.

Collection,
Processing and Maintenance of Bioactivity
After
collection at the dairy, Imu-Tek colostrum is frozen to protect
proteins from
heat and enzymatic degradation. Colostrum is then gently thawed
and kept
refrigerated during further processing. Raw colostrum is
processed using
several proprietary methods to remove all bacteria and viruses,
yet retain
the potency of the colostral proteins. Clean room facilities are
maintained at the
highest level to deliver only the finest pharmaceutical grade
products.

Products
Imu-Tek
markets its bovine colostrum supplements to retailers and
consumers under
the immuno-5ú, immuno Original Strengthú and immuno-Lú
brand names. The company produces private label products for
many other branded colostrum marketers. Imu-Tek is also the
leading manufacturer
and marketer of colostrum for the animal health marketplace.
